Try this technote, you can export all your current data out, throw away the datafile, create a new one, and bring all your data back in.

I've tried a repair/rebuild, but the problem remains.

Not sure if I understand this. Trash the Data file? How am I supposed to get all my information back on the database? Am I missing something?

And Hi Tom,.

4D Tools says the database is OK, but it's not!
Identical problems exist on two TABLES. One has one record I can't delete; the other has 99 records I can't delete.
It's driving me insane.

Even after I do a compact, file names change (originals have a "_" added, new creations have "-2" added).
But when I try to run it, it says my log file is not compatible.
I don't the find manuals helpful in getting through the changes it makes when making repairs and what to do in simple terms that amateurs like me can understand.

I'm thinking I may be forced to create two new tables with their forms etc and relegate the corrupted tables to "invisible" and hope they don't interfere with the database again.

I prefer to solve the problem rather than do a fix around.

Any further ideas?

Michael.
