Why do you think double and triple glazing prevents the leakage better
than single glazing? Does air penetrate glass?

Inert gas and tripple glazing serve noise insulation as far as I know.
Infra red radiation is handled by Low E film for windows. But at 10C
temperature difference (NZ) the heat leakage by Infra red radiation is
quite negligible.
I suspect that energy spent to develop and apply some advanced heat
insulation technologies is greater than the energy saved by using them
:-) (not the case for cold climate countries)
