This doesn't sound like a squirrelmail issue but more gpg. You may have better luck
asking on gpg lists than here.

That being said, I have seen similar problems with other types of keygen tools. When I
have seen this type of behavior it's been because the random device (typically
/dev/random) doesn't have enough system activity to generate enough random data. You
could try moving the mouse, hitting random keys on the keyboard, or put other types of
network load on the machine in question. OR.. if you are using /dev/random, look in to
using /dev/urandom instead as the random device. That device can produce a stead stream
of random data even on a very inactive system.

Hope this helps, if not, I would suggest searching on gpg key generation or some gpg list.
