Actually, the piece has two fugues at the same time. The short one is
basically an ostinato pattern in flute and clarinet that accompanies a
slow tune started on the cellos, which is then fugued in the violins.

I am tidying up the score at present. One of my problems, which I posted
previously, is getting a good string ensemble tone that is suitable for
fast melodies. Friends have commented that one section sounds like a
fairground organ. I think what I may do is put in solo strings (violin,
viola, cello, bass) to make the tone right, and leave the existing
synthy string ensemble sound as a background, turned well down.
