I know how to set up udev rules. I assumed that when people
said to use a hotplug script that they were right.
I've also tried this patch:

this error happens:
usb-serial ttyUSB0: Error registering port device, continuing
and when I unplug the ez430, I get a kernel oops.
Back to the vanilla kernel and a udev rule, I guess. Or I can
just manually write the "2"...
