that happens only with the latest releases of XQuartz (those with the
'enhanced' clipboard syncing features) - but on Tiger, the last update
for X11 is from 2006 (by Apple), and newer versions are only available
via macports (not as precompiled packages).

g2010a says he is using the X11 version that shipped with 10.4. There
are no options in the preferences regarding the clipboard.

I'm not familiar with Tiger - is copying of text or bitmaps between X11
(xterm, NEdit, Inkscape 0.46, GIMP...) and native OS X applications in
general possible?
