Hi Ralf,
as I can see at
http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Matrix:Vendor-Terratecis the Aureon 7.1 PCI sound-card equipped with an "C-Media CMI8768" chip. Do I need an specialized mixer for that card as for "VIA Envy24HT (ICE1724)", if so do you have a clue which one? why can i see the control slider for all channels with "alsaconf" but can not control the loudness? Is ALSA out of the game(in respect of controlling loudness) when i use Jack?
Best Regards,
Torsten Krieger

I can play musik with "mpd" via "jack" but cannot control the volume with means of "alsamixer" nor "amixer". I can see the associated volume control slider for all channels but only "Master" has an effect. When i play the musik direcly to the defined "ALSA PCM output" everything is working fine! How can I control the volume when using "jack" and "ALSA".
