Yes -- I'll arrive at Kobe on Oct 10 and leave on Oct 19.
Will stay in the "Portopia" hotel on Port Island until
Oct 17; for the last 2 nights I didn't book anything yet.
I hope I can arrange something when I'm there, depending
on opportunities for tourism or meeting people.
Did I get it right that you (and some more people) are
located in Osaka? I was told there is a good ferry service
from port island.

see you
Matthias

Is it mean 16 and 17?

10, 11, 12 and 17 may be good candicate since these days are
holiday in Japan.

Osaka is good place to get together.  I'll call to members of K*BUG
(Kansi *BSD user's group).

I'm unfamilliar with ferry services and it is sure that there is a
ferry service from Portopia to Osaka.  But that "Osaka" means KIX
(Kansai International Airport) and it is hard to reach Osaka-city.

Best regards.

Hi -

I'm in Kobe now, and had a look around in the area.
(Had to find out that there is not much of restaurants
and nightlife on Port Island, but it is easy to get
to downtown Kobe.)
Looking at the schedule, Tuesday (Oct 13) would be
available to meet -- I'd be available from 6pm.

No, I've booked the hotel until Saturday the 17th, my flight
leaves on Monday the 19th.

Yes, I see myself now -- there is even a courtesy shuttle from
the hotel to Sannomiya. And if everything fails, it is not much
more than half an hour to walk.

It seems that I can easily get to Osaka, either Tuesday or
next weekend.

best regards
Matthias

On Friday afternoon I'll have a tour to Himeji and the
Spring-8 synchrotron scheduled until 19:30. And this is
the opposite direction geographically, so it will become
too late.
On Saturday there is a tour to Kyoto, also organized by
the conference. It will end late too, but looking at the
map the route might touch Osaka... so there is a chance:
I'll check whether the bus can drop me off at a train
station or so close to the city.

best regards
Matthias

Hmmm.

We could meet at Kyoto, too.  But,

It might be difficult and I had better consider today.

Best regards.
