After watching
http://meetthegimp.org I also found that
ufraw/rawtherapee + gimp does the job for me. I mostly publish my
pictures on websites so I don't need 16bit/channel all the time.
Lightzone is nice but if Linux is not supported I don't care anymore.
LZ is resources hungry and to be honest I would have to upgrade my old
still powerful AthlonXP machine as latest LZ needs SEE2 to work (small
company not enough resources to keep up both SSE and SSE2 support).
Getting new hardware would cost me few times more than LZ license
itself.
Anyway as I said. With little effort anyone can have LZ 3.1 on Linux
without RAW support. You can do RAW images with rawtherapee save them
as 16bit TIFF's and do everything else as you like with LZ. Bit more
complicated but still possible.
