If somehow the link isn't working right for you, look for the plmtty -d /dev/insteon line and the "/dev/insteon is a symlink to the serial port your plm is on, like /dev/ttyS6 or /dev/ttyUSB1" Obviously, you don't need to make a symlink if you don't know what the device is, just replace /dev/insteon with the test device until you do. This is what I get when I select the right port, without typing anything: gargamel:~# plmtty -d /dev/insteon 0ED9EE03057206 Did you plug into a physical serial port or a USB-serial adapter? Uh? ln -s /dev/ttyS0 /dev/insteon is pretty easy, but your call. > Now with this should i be able to control the switchlincs in my house, > whitout getting ye t to Misterhouse? how do i do that? Read yet the same section again: http://misterhouse.wikispaces.com/Insteon#toc24 but honestly, it's error prone and you won't get very far. You're better off using mh from now on.
