No fees in va but they need a big deposit per transponder unless you give them your checking account. And they won't give statements even online unless you pay a fee that basically matches the md one. All in all it's the same evil in a different package.

Subject:  [dc-cycles] Md EZ-Pass fees

I just received a notice from Maryland EZ-Pass that they will institute a
new set of fees, including a $1.50/month charge (previously, there was no
charge) for each account.  I guess the float from the deposit accounts just
isn't enough to satisfy them these days of budget shortfalls.

This sucks.  I specifically picked MD over other states because they didn't
have a fee.  I just don't get out on toll roads enough to make it worthwhile
to have an EZ Pass if there are recurring charges.  Maryland's program was
ideal for me, because I just had to load the account once w/$25 and then was
set for a year or so.

I even semipermanetly installed the EZ Pass under my dash, even, so it's
always there if needed.  Time to take apart the dashboard and remove it, I
guess.

Anyone know of a state offereing EZ Pass without fees?
