Metro should work wherever the Sun JVM would. I would check your servlet container logs for any error messages--that might pinpoint the problem. Hopefully you're using the same servlet container on all OSs so we can downgrade that as the possible source of the problem. If the system is running but the SOAP calls are failing, using Wireshark[1] to see what's going out on the wire may also provide clues.
