I have a system running an older version of Mdv (2008/2007)
where this feature works in konqueror as follows:

Say I have a .mp3 file. When I click on the icon of that file
with the middle mouse button, the application for playing mp3
files is launched and that file is played. Similarly, for other
types of files (xpdf/kpdf/... for pdf, etc).

In Mdv2009.0 I am unable to open with their appropriate application
using the middle mouse button. I used to find that very convenient.

Earlier, clicking on a directory using the middle button would open
a new konqueror window while the left mouse button would descend
into that directory within the current window.

Is there a way to revive the middle button functionality?
