That and they can get it. ;-)

I use an old Magellan Meridian.  Got it at Costco about 10 years ago,
and with the CD, lighter power connector, and car windshield mount I
think it was $200 at the time (GPSs were a lot more expensive back
then).  It's intended for hunting, boating, etc. and is water resistant
(nothing is water "proof"...not with lawyers around). I got the RAM
mount holder designed for it, and it works great.

Something similar, with a more modern GPS may still be available
somewhere.  Mine doesn't let you enter addresses or that fancy
stuff...it just shows you were you are, where you were, and shows cross
street names as you approach them.  No sound, etc.
