Just a note to advise that
OOo_3.0.0rc1_20080904_LinuxIntel_install_en-US_deb.tar.gz
Loaded and installed without a hitch for me in Ubuntu linux (Hardy)
using kernels 2.6.24-19-generic, 2.6.24-19-386, 2.6.24-21-generic, and
2.6.24-21-386 (32bit versions).
and
OOo_3.0.0rc1_20080904_Win32Intel_install_en-US.exe
Loaded and installed without a hitch for me in WinXPPro and Win2KPro.
Note: I tried both options to keep previous and to remove previous OOo
versions and each worked as expected.
