I had a similar problem where I connected using a the USB serial port. I saw the boot messages, kermit was setup correct I could connect a monitor and see the Enlighment desktop. But could not enter anything on the keyboard. Problem was very simple : The oveero board was not properly connected :) , yes I'm very ashamed. Make sure the boards are properly connected , it is hard to distinguish if it is or not.
