Re: Overo Console

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all of the feedback. To cover the responses so far:

• The connection is with the Console USB port, so a straight (black) mini -> A USB cable is being used.
• Minicom and Kermit have the following configuration : 115200bps, 8N1, no flow control.
• Have disconnected the two boards and reconnected them again. Returning to the “Getting Started” page, I noticed that both the Overo and the Summit both appear different to the models show on the page (http://www.gumstix.net/Software/view/Software-Overo/Getting-started/111.html). I’ve connected the Overo so that it lines up neatly with the Summit, with the fixing holes lined up. The microSD slot is facing the 40 I/O (?) holes next to the console USB port, rather than the back of the USB Host and HDMI ports.
  I guess that the picture on the Getting Started page is of the beta hardware (inc WiFi?).
• In Kermit, I used the following commands before powering on the Overo:
• set flow-control none
• set carrier-watch off
• set speed 115200
• connect
• I’ve tried with both the delivered (NAND) environment, and a bitbaked omap3-console-image + u-boot-omap3 on a microSD just in case. Same results.
• I’ve also tried hooking up to an HDMI monitor. Neither the base (NAND), nor the bitbake build environment produced any output.
• Also getting the following at the beginning of the boot cycle – should I be concerned about this?

OMAP3503-GP rev 2, CPU-OPP2 L3-165MHz

Gumstix Overo board + LPDDR/NAND

DRAM:  256 MB

NAND:  256 MiB

*** Warning - bad CRC or NAND, using default environment

I’m guessing that it’s time to send it back to Gumstix :-(
