I rather think the creature was a Damselfly and not a Dragonfly -
there are differences between them - the pic. really does look like
Damselfly to me, specifically because of the slimmer body and smaller
wings.
At rest dragonflies hold their wings flat and
damselflies hold them upright. That should be the telling difference.
I could not determine from the photo which it was.
