You don't think the $ 8000.00 price tag on a full format 35mm camera has deterred some pros?

Lately, I have been renting the appropriate camera for the job.
My business has become more like the film industry. No one actually owns cameras anymore. It just doesn’t make business sense to own these cameras. You can’t recover your investment. They are too expensive and become obsolete too quickly.

I have three full format (full frame) 35mm digital cameras (two 5D bodies and a 5DM2) and together they didn't cost me 8K.

I like owning my gear and I am a full-time professional.

I can see how that could work, if you didn't need the equipment too often.
Or if  you needed different somewhat exotic equipment each time.

Last I checked local rentals, what they had available was kind of limited.
But I may not know the best places these days (I'm pretty sure I used to,
but things change).
