Stéphane, I guess he just has forgotten to run ldconfig. I can't say how
often I have forgotten to do this ... :D ... still there seems to be
some kind of voodoo, because it seems to work, after he did it a second
time (that's how I interpret his latest mail). And now it seems to be
fine for him.

I'm afraid to compile JACK for my distro, but I need to do it and it's
64 Studio, a Debian based.

I guess, because he 'upgraded' libjacks, he run into trouble with the
link for libjack...so.

Can you tell what is needed to be done, to be fine for Suse and Debian
based distros, that have an unusal behaviour to link libjack...so?

I know the answer is somewhere in the archive :S.

There seems to be the need, to set --prefix?!
