A magmon is quite easy to beat as long as you know what your doing as opposed to hoping that you get the right cards. For instance, try playing to his weaknesses, or attacking when you have an advantage (strong attack cards in hand, or a good location).

Magmon's has two prominent weaknesses, firstly is his Recklessness.

Overworld cards with high courage such as Tartarek or Frafdo can easily beat magmon with assistance with song of resurgence or simply using evaporize. Then dealing heavy damage with attacks such as Skeletal strike, shadow strike, sleepsting (for for tartarek), and power pulse (for frafdo), and simply outlast him.

Magmon's other large weakness is that he has very generalized stats. All of his stats don't go over 70, with glaring weaknesses in speed and wisdom. You can deal alot of consistant damage by stacking your deck with challenging moves that assist your creatures (the demo attack decks are a little... off and I pefer to make custom ones).

One strategy that I use to take out opposing Magmons (This probally won't work if your using the print out cards since you have a limited amount of cards, as opposed to the online demo where its much easier to mix and match cards. An easy solution is to print out another set of cards so both players has the option to use cards from both tribes.) Is by simply putting Solvis in your backline, and waiting for your opponent to waste most of his offensive/healing mugic (ie. resurgence, casuality) then retaliating with a flurry of blows from your solvis behind your line as so:

Solvis with a mugician's lyre, 2 canons of casualities and solvis's special ability. This deals a total of 50 damage in 1 shot, then we simply let magmon attack and kill himself with his own recklessness. Note: this strat wont work as well as long as your opponent is holding 2 casualities since that would bring down Solvis by bursting.

As for Maxxor, they've signifiantly reduced his stats. He now has a base of 60 energy (though I believe its possible to find a 70 energy maxxor if your lucky), his speed was reduced to around 60, most of his stats received a 5-10 reduction (short of his courage, which got increased I believe). His special ability now only heals 15 energy instead of 20, and he cannot be in mixed tribes (signifiantly reducing his usability and flexibily greatly).

So I assume that the developers of Chaotic also rounded out other heavy hitters as to make the game more fair.
