Seems a bit bizarre, I'm not that experienced with the way the engine works, it don't make sense to me that it should happen in the middle of the rev range unless its that point that the oil is drawn away from the switch but still steady and over that the switch is knocking off due to splash back as the oil gets thrashed about? I would have thought the switch would need to be submerged to work though.
