It's usefull that at idle to know the level isn't dropping and also comes on if you get the revs up before the engine is warm so reminds me not to thrash it when cold! I'm not worried, 4500miles in and it's fine (not blown up) but just curious to know why. Would just put it down to the swich being high up; The switch is more a "oil level below full" than "oil low" and the level drops as the revs increase, ...but why does it go out at higher revs ...and not happen after the oil has done a few miles?
