I agree with this approach, in fact I thought it's what we were intending...

I really think that ripping out a chunk of sc, when we've already had
an RC and we really NEED to release 3.3, for the book but also for
other reasons, would be extremely bad timing.

I think the crucial-move could/should be one of the first things we do
in the post-3.3 svn...
