No de-activation needed.
The error looks like a permissions problem when Troopmaster tries to create the license file in C:\Troopmaster Software\TM4\
You might look and see if the ability to write to there is restricted by the virtual machine.

Our troop has the license for TM '08. I was running TM'08 on an XP computer & I have the activation license code from that. Do I need to de-activate that copy or something like that?
