I have suggested that we should mark all superceded opcode.  Some are
done, but I still have not seen a clear answer to the question "are tehre
any cases where diskin2 is not a superset of diskin?"

This was of courde the originalplan, and I wrote a utility to give a valid
mapping of opcode to module; unfortunately it ceased to work when the
coreaudio rtaudio plugin was written and I have never had any
encouragement to finish this.

\i may be a little behind in mail -- 18 hrs delayed at an airport with no
net has upset my plans.
