Just: - maintain a branch somewhere - collect, review and apply patches from people - explain your vision / roadmap for how you see the software developing in the future - make releases from time to time - announce releases here, on the web-site, and on freshmeat, etc If you do a good job, someone will change the link on the web-site to point at your version. Also, you don't have to do all of the above. For example, I could make the final release with the binaries etc, if someone else has got it ready and tested first. -- Dr Thomas Leonard http://0install.net/ GPG: 9242 9807 C985 3C07 44A6 8B9A AE07 8280 59A5 3CC1 GPG: DA98 25AE CAD0 8975 7CDA BD8E 0713 3F96 CA74 D8BA ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Centralized Desktop Delivery: Dell and VMware Reference Architecture Simplifying enterprise desktop deployment and management using Dell EqualLogic storage and VMware View: A highly scalable, end-to-end client virtualization framework. It isn't and never was. -- Stephen Watson http://www.kerofin.demon.co.uk/ If you read this on a mailing list, send any reply back to the list and not to me. Not even CC.
