Since I do not have a soundfont-capable sound card, I had no choice but
to convert Paul's Small Neo-Baroque Organ to Fluidsynth. Both the
disposition file AND the soundfont had to be modified. But now it works
great! No crack up sounds on my system under Fludisynth! The transposer
does not work with Fluidsynth. Possibly Fluidsynth ignores the MIDI
Continuous Controller RPN 100/101 and CC 6 sequence used to set "Master
Coarse Tuning".
As I could not get the bank/patch numbering scheme used in the soundfont
and disposition to work with Fluidsynth, I edited the soundfont (with
Viena) such that all the presets were designated in bank 0, and all the
patch numbers were designated uniquely within bank zero, i.e.,
bank 00b, patch 00p became bank 000, patch 0bp
for each of the presets in the soundfont. Possibly Fluidsynth ignores
MIDI CC 0 (bank select) messages.
Of course, the corresponding MIDI messages for each Rank in the
disposition had to be adjusted accordingly for the modified numbering
scheme.
