Dear Saravanan

I noticed that you are seeking your Ph.D in Remote Sensing and thought
that it would be good to ask you for help in this regard.  I have never
been trained formally in GIS but have worked in a GIS environment for
the past several years and have a little idea about Remote sensing.  I
need to prepare for training a group of company staff who got something
to do with coastal and marine study.  The topics I have been given are
under the titles.

GIS and Remote Sensing of the Marine Environment
Introduction to ERDAS/ENV1
Data Collection
Field Inspection.

Please give me some guidance on where to start my study focused on the
topics above specially the first one.

Actually Im a Phd student in tropicals natural resources management and
working with underground water pollution by organochlorine pesticides in my
state. In my state we have a big public health problem wit cancer prevalence
and we have not research in this theme.

I would like to know some group which are working with GIS (ARCGIS) and
water pollution, for geoestatystic and spatial analysis.
I have interest in a short training with GIS to analize my data next year.
