I found a src rpm, ran the command you suggested, got this:

[~]# rpmbuild -ba pdftk-1.12-0.src.rpm
rpmbuild: /lib/libgcc_s.so.1: version `GCC_4.2.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6)

The same error.
