Next to the forward button in the toolbar you mean?  With Bonobo finally
gone, we can easily do that now.  This is a good example of the kind of
simple enhancements that Bonobo was preventing us from doing for years.

We do have a plugin for dealing with "application/ms-tnef" attachments.
The plugin is tagged as experimental though.  I have no idea how well it
works, and not all distros ship our experimental plugins.

There's already a pending request to promote the plugin to our standard
set [1], so if someone wouldn't mind testing it out on some winmail.dat
attachments (or whatever MS is calling them these days) out there in the
wild and verify that Evolution can read them, I can promote the plugin
for Evolution 2.30.

Unfortunately, I already have the plugin (comes with evo in Arch), and
it doesn't work with this specific email. Attaching an example email
with the problem.

Hi, referring to=20
http://www.ptgrey.com/support/kb/index.asp?a=3D4&q=3D312&ST=3Dbumblebee

When capturing in Format 7 mode 3 via NI's CVS unit, the raw data I=20
extract from the Bumblebee2 (640x480 resolution) is 616080 bytes, where=20
I'd expect 614400 bytes (640x480x2). The extra 1680 bytes appear to be a=20
buffer of some sort (3.5x480). Could I be pointed to some details on=20
exactly what the format of the raw data returned is?=20

In my case, not even that -- clicking on the down arrow at the
attachment bar at the bottom of the email nicely presented it inline.

See, that's the problem with my setup, I believe. I don't see any
attachment, attaching is what the message window looks like.

I'm using Arch Linux 64-bit, evolution 2.28.1. The mail comes in through
evo-mapi, but copying it to my imap account doesn't help anything. When
I forward it inline the resulting composer window doesn't have anything.
When I forward as attachment, I get the attachment which was forwarded
earlier, and in my outbox/composer I can see the attachment and open it.
It doesn't show in my inbox, however, either in preview on when I open
the message itself by double-clicking.

same here, for evo and mutt, ( not worth the effort to fire up tbird to
check )
