In all defense you get what you pay for.  Bitpim is a free application
that is of enormous use to the community.  If you want to transfer data
with your handset and get support then pay for a program like Datapilot
that does in fact support your OLD phone and YOUR NEW phone plus you can
get telephone support
You could also donate to the developers of the open source application
because they all have three or four jobs unlike commercial cell phone
application developers, but I see that as very unlikely after reading
your post.

Kind regards,

Lee Reiber
