The current LibTIFF codecs, 3.9 and upward if I'm not mistaking, include a
very good OJPEG decoder that deals with nearly every flavor out there and
various corruptions thereof, and is robust too.

I kinda din't get how this question got popped today, and it seems it
didn't. It was a message from 2001, due to me accessing the wrong archive.
