We could do something like that but it's a bit of a hack and we'd prefer
a cleaner solution.

So it sounds like there probably isn't a facility I've missed (excepting
suggestions like the above) to handle this. I'll be doing the work to
put this into their 3.0.x series deployment anyway, and if the feature's
considered useful rather than unnecessary bloat I'm happy to port it
forward to the current version too.
