Re: a visit to MOA
Hi Sivia, This is Leah Maestri; I'm part of the Fluid Engage design team located here at SFU, Vancouver. It's nice to meet you! I have been spearheading the FE visit to the MOA. My first task has been to come up with an itinerary to follow when we come and speak with you, which will include topics we can brainstorm about. I will be sending this out shortly once the FE team gives their final input. A meeting this week or early next week sounds great. Is there a particular day that works best for you?
I will be in touch shortly. Best, Leah On Sat, Oct 24, 2009 at 12:25 PM, Sivia Sadofsky <sivia.sadofsky@...> wrote:

I'm writing because a few of our Vancouver team members are really excited to come visit the MOA and to spend some time talking to you about a laundry list of topics. I'll let them clarify what they'd like to talk about, but wanted to make the introduction in this email -- Sivia, meet Lee and Vicki from SFU.

Hi Sivia, Meeting next Tuesday would work best for myself and my colleague Kevin. I think we would only need an afternoon block to cover some of the topics we would like to discuss. Is there a start time that works best for you?

Looking forward to this,

Re: a visit to MOA
Hi Sivia, Please find attached the itinerary for next Tuesday's visit; apologies for the delay in getting this to you. You will also find attached a Journey Framework (called art_gallery_ind_KIOSK.pdf); this is a schematic of how we visualize the museum experience for an individual visitor. This was developed for the Detroit Institute of Arts as a way for us to look at how their proposed kiosk would impact the way visitors flow through the museum. We would love to go through this with you as well to see if we can apply this same framework with MOA's Reciprocal Research Network.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing you at 1pm. Is there a specific place Kevin and I should meet you? Best, Leah On Tue, Oct 27, 2009 at 2:43 PM, Sivia Sadofsky <sivia.sadofsky@...> wrote:

Re: a visit to MOA
Hi Sivia, No worries if other staff members can't join us for our meeting. I put this in the itinerary only as a suggestion in case others were available and wanted to join in. If there are questions outstanding from our visit, your help in asking other staff members for their input will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the clarification between the RRN and MOA CAT. It will be great to discuss both as separate interactive technologies for the MOA. :) We are looking forward to our meeting. Chat soon! Best,
Leah On Fri, Oct 30, 2009 at 12:56 PM, Sivia Sadofsky <sivia.sadofsky@...> wrote:
Leah, and team,
Just looking at your attached itinerary and want to make sure you are planning to meet with me as opposed to other museum staff. I did not book anyone else for this timeframe, and it is too late for me to pull others in. However if there are outstanding issues to discuss I’ll run them to ground after our meeting on Tuesday.
The reason I am highlighting this is the museum tour with MOA staff ... And the feedback you might want from that as well as from the Ontology questions. I am pretty sure I can give you good feedback but there may be issues that arise which I’d like to get input on from others – most likely that will have to happen after Tuesday.
Also, in your Interview/Brainstorm portion – you have a bullet about the RRN – the Reciprocal Research Network – happy to discuss this, but it is not a system targeting museum visitors. We have another system in development, the MOA CAT, which does target visitors and we expect this to change the visitor experience. The MOA CAT is not yet widely publicized and there is quite a bit of crossover with the RRN so it is logical that you could think the RRN is I this position. I will explain both systems to you and Kevin on Tuesday and likely that discussion section will focus on the MOA CAT.
As for how to find me, please come to the museum at 6393 NW Marine drive. Best parking is at the Rose Garden Parking lot across the street. There is construction in our parking lot and at the MOA front entrance so the signage directs you to the staff entrance. Just ask at reception or security for me, they will phone me.
Looking forward to seeing you!
