Re: design ideas for forum front page

I think the designs for the second one are good for categories, but I don't think they should replace forums (well, it might be cool to have this so that all forums also had category views, and just get rid of the category/forum distinction).  So, in essence, I guess maybe I do like the original new idea.

I'm not too keen on the Google groups style.  I kind of like most things about the Nabble layout; mostly, I just think it needs some aesthetic adjustments (and I think the new views help for the actual posts, but the forum screen is still the same style, except for colors and such, if you change them).
