Yep, that is one mode of operation. We expect communication to be more
frequent in ProtoGeni. Also, it is not just downtime we are worried
about, but network partition; we would like the components to continue
to operate in the presence of partition.

What about ssh? Most people in the research community are quite
comfortable with ssh.
