Unfortunatelly, my understanding is, that EEP7 (FFI) will never accepted into OTP.
The OTP team working on alternative solution "linked-in BIFs", which will be similar to Java JNI.
My options now: either stick with R11B-5 patched with FFI or just implement custom BIFs in R13B-1.
I will quote Joel "...you can even load external libraries, like C libraries, but that's world of pain basically at the moment..."
For me this moment looks like forever :-(
