You will need to restart CF when you change the mapping. ColdFusion only uses once it at compile time.

yeah - I was going to have one at a time.
i thought it might be an easy way to jump back a version if there were issues.

You could have a /farcry/core mapping - but it would only work for one core version at a time. To have both on the same instance you need to have a webroot installation.

Would I have to have a web server mapping (virtual direcory) too?
Would this work for farcry\plugins\farcrycms as well?
