This is an Octave core function and so it goes into the core. Yeah I
think its useful. You should probably join the octave help or
maintainers list directly at

http://www.octave.org/archive.html

and send the code you have there.. The Nabble interface is probably why
no ones responded to this mail yet as the e-mail took sometime to get to
the lists.. Unfortunately the attachment seems to have been stripped by
Nabble..
