i was annoyed by not bein able to user Firefox3 with Typo3 pre 4.2 version so i created a temporary Bugfix Extension:
http://typo3.org/extensions/repository/view/mn_ff3_be_bugfix/0.0.2/If it doesen't work for someone, just drop me a line.

the problem still exists in SVN revision 3159.
