 After using xmodmap to set

   clear Mod4
   add Mod4 = Super_L

 the key seems to work, finally. Thanks for the hint.

 Now Super_L + Right Mouse Button activates glxcompmgr's zoom plugin,
 and it works. But the rotate plugin (which should be activated by
 Super_L + Cursor Keys) still does not work.
