Thanks for the report. This is probably the same problem that was
reported in
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/gnugo-devel/2005-09/msg00080.html,
further discussed in the thread starting with
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/gnugo-devel/2005-10/msg00001.html,
and fixed in GNU Go 3.7.7.

I recommend upgrading.
