You might try just starting over and fiddling with it.  I can't reproduce
this, but I have no doubt you arrived at this situation, and it could be
repeated.

What I wound up with looks like [result.jpg]  Isn't that the sort of thing
you're after?

Of course the bad news is even if what I've depicted is the sort of solution
you're after, it doesn't export to LilyPond properly.

If you happen to be able to show me a snippet of this kind of situation in
some score for me to try to copy, I'll be happy to piddle and share any
findings.  It would be easier with a picture of what a real result is
supposed to look like.  (Unless, of course, I just produced one.)
