For some reason, your email came in distracting bold on my screen.
I have used bitpim with LG Dare on my Mac and Linux boxes: both
bluetooth and supplied USB cable (though Mac bitpim needed a bit of
patching to use usb, which I had to do before) straight out of the
box. Once I discovered bluetooth will be blocked by the phone if USB
cable is attached. I have not tried Windows.
I have uploaded to the phone and downloaded to my computer phonebook,
downloaded pictures and videos, recent calls etc. I have not tried
ringtones etc.
So far, the only thing is that the dates on the pictures on my SD card
as reported by bitpim is exactly 10 years and 4 days in the past (so it
seems all pictures I took were in 1999). I can't imagine what that bug
is due to.
Mac bitpim on identify phone has really hung hard on me
(hold-down-power-button hard, not take-out-battery hard). So, I do not
try that any more.
