Hi,
I don't think this is a good idea for both of us. Someone else tried to do so
just a few months ago (and failed). You'll have a lot of work and trouble with
bug reports from users and quite a lot of work. Users will come to our
community and report their problems as well. And we'd also like to get
donations from users directly (even if they're less). I really don't know
people that wouldn't use a software just because it is free - many people
actually are excited that there's a free solution. People still can buy
commercial software if they really want - but then they do not care about
prices.
So please understand that I (we) won't support your plans in selling a
commercial version of LMMS. Please respect thousands of hours that were spent
in developing this software. It would be ok to sell CDs with additional
samples and/or tutorials as long as LMMS remains as a free software the user
can obtain wherever he wants.
