No, he's right. If you're playing a 1v1 match, you only get 1 mugic. 3v3 allows you to have 3 mugic for the match, 6 mugic for a 6v6, 10 for a 10v10, and so on. You always have the same number of creatures,  mugix, and battlegear in any one match, and it's always determined by the number of creatures in your army (1, 3, 6, 10, 15, 21, 28).
