Hi,
why should that not be possible? You can use and event
you like with CPAINT:

function myFunc() {
cp.call(.....);
}
</script>
<select ... onChange="myFunc()">
</select>
Take your time and have a look at the smiley generator
example - its pretty full of event-triggered CPAINT
action.
