Linux printing through LightZone is largely untested. I wish I had
better news.
I personally haven't tried much because I assume that things mostly
depend on the printer driver, I only have a few printers, and I have had
a lot of trouble finding good linux drivers for them.
Since you can print well from the Gimp, I assume that your problem lies
in the Java printer layer, which LightZone uses. On Mac and Windows, we
have had to bypass Java printing entirely to get satisfactory results.
I think we need more information about the linux case.
It would be a great help, Cornelis1 (or anyone reading this) if you
could tell us your printer, whether LightZone can print to it, and
whether any other linux program can print images to it. If there's a
pattern, then maybe we can work up some diagnostics and fix the problems.
