What LiveTribe SLP version are you using ?
Are you running LiveTribe SLP at port 427 or you're using another port ?
In the host is also present slpd ?
You can turn on logging level as specified here:
http://www.livetribe.org/SLP-FrequentQuestions#SLP-FrequentQuestions-loggingand see if you get something strange, or post the log output here.
